Auto Glass Repair Services
A vehicle’s windshield plays an important role in keeping its occupants safe. Not only does it keep outside debris away from passengers, it also plays a vital part in maintaining your vehicle’s structural integrity. During a rollover accident, the windshield supports the vehicle’s roof, ensuring it doesn’t collapse. That’s why you shouldn’t wait if your windshield is cracked or chipped. Instead, bring it to Garber Collision Center of Saginaw as soon as possible and let our certified technicians repair or replace it for you.
Contemporary windshields are made from laminated safety glass that is designed to withstand impacts. This shatter-resistant laminated glass is composed of two layers of glass bonded together with a plastic resin called Polyvinyl Butyral. These windshields are designed to prevent the roof from collapsing during a rollover, ensure the airbags deploy properly, and prevent passengers from being ejected from the vehicle during an accident, reducing the likelihood of a serious injury or even a fatality.
Even small chips and cracks can compromise your windshield’s structural integrity, so it’s important to get them taken care of as soon as possible. If a windshield chip is less than six inches long, doesn’t block a camera or sensor, and is smaller than a dime, then our certified service technicians can repair it for you. We use a specialized resin that bonds with the glass to fill in the chip or crack, restoring its strength and preventing future damage. We then use a UV light to cure the resin to ensure it’s crystal clear and blends into the rest of the glass.
However, if your vehicle has sustained significant damage, we’ll have to replace the entire windshield for you. Our techs will first remove the damaged windshield, then use advanced primers and adhesives to secure a brand-new one into place. Once the windshield is set, we’ll also make sure to vacuum any broken glass that may have been left behind by the previous windshield. This service extends to the rear windshield and any of the side windows as well.
As an I-CAR Gold Class Certified facility, Garber Collision Center of Saginaw is proud to offer high-quality auto glass repair.
